Job Description

: The Mortgage Loan Processor will be responsible for coordinating the processing and funding of all first mortgage loans to acquire necessary documentation and ensure compliance with FNMA, FHA, VA and Kirtland CU policies. Will provide exceptional internal and external member service.

Primary Job Duties:

• Assumes responsibility for providing effective support for all phases of mortgage loan activities within service level standards.
• Support and provide prompt solution-focused assistance to employees and members in person or via the telephone.
• Monitor loan setup, closing, funding to post closing of all Mortgage loan products, including home equity loans and home equity lines of credit.
• Review loan documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Credit Union lending policy and procedures.
• Perform the role of liaison between the Credit Union and vendors (title companies, appraisers, FICS, ARCH, etc).
• Generate all necessary mortgage loan documents required for closing and prepare the closing instructions for the title company.
• Confirm that there is a clear title, the property survey poses no uninsurable items, and determine the necessary mortgage riders and title policy endorsements to be requested.
• Post payments and perform financial transactions required to pay credit report and appraisals, and any other transactions necessary to facilitate a loan transaction.
• Assure HMDA information is accurate or corrected and monitored quarterly.
• Assist Mortgage Loan Servicer with the paying of taxes, escrow analysis, coupons, and tax statements.

Preferred or required qualifications:

• Associates degree in Business or related field preferred

• Two-three years of Mortgage Lending or Processing experience preferred
• Two years of Financial Institution experience helpful, but not required
• Experience with calculating loan to value and debt to income
• Understanding of mortgage loan processing functions, including FHA/VA and conventional lending
• Knowledge of mortgage related requirements, procedures, and underwriting criteria
• Knowledge of applicable regulations
• Knowledge of real estate closing documents, loan products, and lending compliance and regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Multi-task and detail oriented
• Ability to work within tight deadlines.
• Problem solving ability of moderate difficulty handling high dollar financial transactions.
• Strong organizational skills
