Job Description

Bad Cholesterol is a pizzeria in Downtown Brooklyn. You may have ordered our pizzas at TALEA Beer Co. Cobble Hill or Kings County Distillery.

We are hiring a part-time flex  Assistant Pizzaiolo . 

In this position, you will:

• Learn how to make sourdough pizzas, maintain starters, and create pre-ferments;
• Stretch, top, and fire Neapolitan inspired pizzas;
• Provide guests engaging and surprising hospitality; and
• Maintain food preparation area hygiene and cleanliness.

Applicants should demonstrate: 

• A passion for pizza, cooking, and other cuisines;
• Creative recipe development;
• An eye for detail;
• A get-the-job-done attitude; 
• A calm and generous demeanor;
• The ability to work in a team, to deadline, and under pressure; and
• A knack for anticipating the needs of your manager and your team.

Applicants must also: 

• Stand for long periods of time (e.g., dinner service); 
• Work nights and weekends;
• Ride a bike short distances;
• Occasionally lift objects 50 lbs and under; and
• Hold a valid Food Protection Certificate from the N.Y.C. Department of Health & Mental Hygiene. (Servsafe, or other non-Department of Health food safety courses, are insufficient .)

The Assistant Pizzaiolo is a part-time position based in Downtown Brooklyn.
