WeCare Medical Specialty Group is seeking a highly detail-oriented and meticulous Remote Proofreader to join our team. The Proofreader will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of our written materials across various platforms. This is a remote position offering the flexibility to work from home while contributing to a vital healthcare mission.
Responsibilities:
Carefully review and proofread a variety of materials, including:
Website content
Marketing materials (brochures, flyers, advertisements)
Patient education materials
Internal communications
Reports and presentations
Social media posts
Check for errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, capitalization, and formatting.
Ensure consistency in style, tone, and brand voice.
Verify factual accuracy and check for inconsistencies.
Compare different versions of documents to identify discrepancies.
Use proofreading marks and online tools effectively.
Adhere to style guides (e.g., AP, Chicago, AMA if applicable).
Meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Collaborate with writers, editors, and other team members as needed.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Proofreader or in a related role demonstrating strong proofreading skills.
Exceptional command of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style.
Familiarity with standard proofreading marks and techniques.
Keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
Excellent communication skills.
Proficiency in using online proofreading tools and software.
Must be located in the United States or be a U.S. permit resident.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
Experience in the healthcare industry or with medical terminology.
Familiarity with accessibility guidelines (e.g., WCAG).
